Hi, you've reached Nibir Konwar's portfolio
journalist | filmmaker | poet
I’m currently an entertainment journalist writing for Soap Central, where I’ve covered everything from Marvel and DC to television breakdowns, film analysis, and culture pieces with opinions. Before that I wrote for First Curiosity, where I covered everything pop culture—be it Taylor Swift and her brand of White feminism or Greta Gerwig's filmmaking world and how Barbie was snubbed.
I like writing stories that make people think, be it news pieces, film recommendations, or investigations into the flaws in a sports drama film.
As a screenwriter, I’ve written screenplays that have won several awards at inter-collegiate competitions—one explored language as a barrier and how things get lost in translation, another tackled mental health and the grief of losing a parent, and another narrated a story from the perspective of an ashtray. Apart from these, I have also made several award-winning films for college- romantic thrillers, queer romances and films that speak out against misogyny and racial discrimination. My films and screenplays lean into emotional quiet, and I love writing things that reflect on my personal experiences with life, loss, love, and grief.
I also write poetry, mostly for myself, but you can scroll here a little and read most of them. I did put together a self-published anthology a few years back, it’s on Amazon.
If you’d like to collaborate, read my work, or just talk about films, feminism, cats, or mental health advocacy, you can reach out via email at nibirjm21@gmail.com, or on LinkedIn, or @nibearr on Instagram.
Have a great day!
